Huck PAC Supports Stutzman and Pence

From Huck PAC:

Marlin Stutzman – For United States Senate 2010

Huck PAC and I are pleased to support Marlin Stutzman for U.S. Senate. Marlin is unabashedly pro-life, and his position on protecting unborn children isn’t political it’s personal. Marlin is a member of the NRA and has received an A+ rating from the organization – in part for his work on getting Indiana’s lifetime handgun permit passed. …We need more people like Marlin Stutzman in Washington because he’ll work for the right kind of change in D.C. Please join me in supporting Marlin Stutzman for U.S. Senate from Indiana.

Mike Pence -For Congress 2010

Huck PAC and I are pleased to endorse my good friend, Congressman Mike Pence for re-election as Congressman for the 6th Congressional District of Indiana. Mike needs no introduction to the members of Huck PAC or to conservative Republicans across the country. His credentials as a conservative are above reproach.

Since the passage of Obamacare last Sunday night against the wishes of the American people, we have had over 2,300 donations to Huck PAC. That is a record response for Huck PAC. Thank you!
In fact, my team and I set a goal of 3,000 donations by Wednesday at midnight and as of this morning we are just 607 away. If you haven’t made a donation I hope you will please consider $5 or more to Huck PAC’s efforts to elect conservatives nationwide.

Travis Hankins

Please consider supporting Travis Hankins.

From his website:

The focus of my campaign is to re-establish the importance of self government. Of all our founding principles self government is the most important because it ensures all the others. Without self government there is no Freedom. The federal government is good at national security and infrastructure but they are really bad at spending our money and raising our kids. The more the government expands the more Liberty we lose. America is the greatest nation in the history of the world because for two hundred years we have governed ourselves. It is time we got back to that basic understanding. -Travis Hankins

Huckabee says it well

From HuckPAC.com:

I’m very proud to have supported Senator McCain and the only regret is that more Americans didn’t share my conviction that he would have made an outstanding President.  I not only recognize, but respect that we are a nation in which the people choose and tonight they have chosen Senator Obama.  He was not my choice, but he will be my President and I will pray for him to lead this great nation with God’s help and grace.  He will face serious challenges to lead our country and he will need all Americans to give him a chance.

Making Calls and Seeing Sarah Palin

Jeanette and Brayden went to Fort Wayne to pick up free tickets to see Gov. Palin in Noblesville. While they were there, they learned that by making 100 phone calls they could get a VIP ticket. Joe, Ryan and Kaylea joined them later in the afternoon to make a total of 600 phone calls – resulting in 6 VIP tickets!

Here is a news report that captured Jeanette and Brayden in the act of making some of those phone calls! (around 1:37)

Here is a news report of the event that we attended. (I didn’t see us in the videos, though…)

Dave Ramsey – Three Steps

Dave Ramsey has posted 3 Steps To Change the Nation’s Future:

Dave says:

We are at a crucial time in our country’s financial history. Congress defeated the $700 billion bailout plan on Monday. However, they are revising it and trying to push it through again. Dave is supporting an alternative plan that will keep our nation from going even deeper in debt.

Huckabee on the Bail Out

From Mike Huckabee on Huck PAC:

If Congress wants to do something, here are some suggestions:

  1. Eliminate ALL capital gains taxes and taxes on savings and dividends right now. Free up the capital and encourage investment. This is the kind of economic stimulus the Fair Tax would bring and if Congress is going to lose money, let them lose it with lower taxes, not with public dollar bailouts of private market mistakes.
  2. Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley. It has failed. It was supposed to prevent this. It didn’t. Kill it.
  3. Demand that the executives who steered their ships into the ground be forced to pay back the losses of their companies. Of course, they can’t, so let them work and give back to the government and they can live like the people they put on the streets or kept there. It makes no sense to put them in jail—that’s just more they will cost you and me. I’d rather them go out and earn money—just not get to keep so much of it this time. I’m not talking about limiting CEO salaries—just those of the people who now are up in Washington begging for help because they ruined their companies.

Sarah Palin – a woman of faith and courage

I was doing some research on the presumptive 2008 Republican candidate for Vice President of the United States, Sarah Palin. I was specifically looking for information regarding her relationship with Christ. I found the following article in the Alaska Assemblies of God Newsletter (Summer, 2008):

The opening night banquet of the 2008 Alaska District Council was honored to have Governor Sarah Palin address the delegates and guests. Governor Palin spoke of her appreciation for the Assemblies of God and requested that the Council pray for both her and the State of Alaska. Superintendent Ted Boatsman, who was Palin’s junior high pastor at Wasilla Assembly of God, along with Pastor Mike Rose of Juneau Christian Center, where Palin presently attends church when in Juneau, laid hands on the Governor and led the Council in prayer.

Palin, who was elected Governor in 2007, is Alaska’s youngest governor and the first female governor of the state. She just recently gave birth to her fifth child, Trig. Palin spoke of the faith challenge she faced when learning that Trig would be a Downs Syndrome child. However, she and her husband, Todd, believe that every child is a gift of God, deserving of life, and that God was asking them to accept His will for their lives. The Alaska District Council believes that the State of Alaska is blessed to have a woman of faith and courage as Governor. ~Submitted by Lattis Campbell

Character in Action

I just finished reading Mike Huckabee’s book, Character Makes a Difference. I have always been impressed with how Governor Huckabee talks respectfully about his opponents. He clearly articulates his position and fairly spells out their position and highlights the differences. He doesn’t attack them. As an example, take a look at his comments on Barak Obama. He encourages discussion on the issues – not tearing down the person.

From Character Makes a Difference:

General Robert E. Lee was once asked to give his opinion of a man who had spoken ill of him on many occasions. Lee spoke kindly of the man. One of his aides could stand it no longer and spoke up. “General, you have spoken very kindly of this individual, but he has taken every opportunity to speak hatefully about you,” he said. “Why would you say such nice things about him?”

Lee replied, “I was asked my opinion of him, not his opinion of me.”

And from James 1:19-20 (NLT)

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.
